DIVA News Magazine. Several readers have suggested that the monthly newsletter is difficult to read given the increasing length of the publication. Although navigating the newsletter was made possible with a "jump to" type of menu, many found scrolling was their way to access the information and it was a longer process than they wanted.
With this issue we change to a magazine format that will open new opportunities for the DIVA Community. The pages are shorter. You can quickly select and access only that information you want and always return to "Home" from the top of each page.
This new format opens the possibility of offering new topics with each issue. Commentary, focus on a DIVA artist, highlighting a special event, or focusing at more length on DIVA news is now possible. If you have an idea for the newsletter or would like to make a contribution, please contact .

Artist Salon: Developing Your Presentation Materials. Becky Guy, DIVA Exhibits Coordinator and Scott Huette, Arts and Administration Instructor at the UO will present on how and why to develop a fine art presentation package that will represent you and your work in the best possible light. Topics covered may include: Commercial vs. Academic target markets, Selecting works to Present, Written Communications, Catalogs and Brochures, The Artist Statement, Your Biography, The Artists Vitae, and Pulling it all together. This is the first in a three part hands on workshop series. The Salon meets on July 15th at 4 PM.

The Northwest as Artistic Muse. Artist, writer, and DIVA exhibitor Lidoña Wagner has published an article in the University of Oregon's "Oregon Quarterly" about the influence of the Northwest environment on the work of painter Carl Morris.
Morris is considered my many a master artist of the 20th Century but has often been overlooked because of his refusal to participate in the art movement of his time located in New York. Recognition of his contribution to art has come late but for Northwesteners his work is often available at regional galleries and locally at the Eugene Post Office where his murals were installed in 1941. The Museum of Art on the University of Oregon campus is presenting an exhibition of murals by Carl Morris through September 9. Read Article.
