UP FRONT NEWS

DIVA Center Gets Grant. The Oregon Arts Commission has announced 22 awards in its Arts Recognition Grant program, acknowledging the strengths of Oregon arts organizations that have a record of excellence in programming, service and organizational capacity. This year the Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts was given a $1,000 award in recognition of DIVA's mission to revitalize downtown Eugene using visual arts activities as a catalyst.
The awards serve as a visible indication of Arts Commission support and will assist in raising an organization’s profile and in leveraging other funds and resources. The program brings recognition to the many arts organizations in Oregon, which have not received funding from the Commission due to reductions in public funding.
Since 2003, DIVA has contributed to attracting artists, students and visitors to downtown Eugene by staging exhibits, classes, and film events.

DIVA Silent Auction. Madeleine Leipe, one of our current exhibiting artists, has generously donated a beautiful painting for auction benefit for DIVA.  This work, valued at $1000 will have an opening bid of $400.  The piece is on display in DIVA’s lobby.

Call to Artists. Pearl Buck Center is soliciting artists for their annual fundraiser, Fine Art, Fine Wines, Fine Times to be held on May 20.  For more information, contact Jerry Williams at .
