Art and the Vineyard Celebrates Its 24th Year! The 2007 Art and the Vineyard Festival takes place July 6, 7, and 8 at Alton Baker Park in Eugene. From its inception as a small art auction and wine-tasting event, Art and the Vineyard has grown into the premier art and wine festival in the Southern Willamette Valley. The festival, which is the principal fundraiser for the Maude Kerns Art Center, attracts over 25,000 visitors annually. Monies raised from the festival help fund the Art Center’s year-round exhibitions and art classes in all media for children, teens, and adults. More Information.
Blackberry Jam! There is an Art Show coming up! We will display and sell art in the Lowell Covered Bridge during the Blackberry Jam! Please check out the detailed information at our website. Anyone, student - amateur - professional is encouraged to submit a piece of art in any medium with the theme of the Covered Bridge for the Apart in Art Show taking place July 26-28, 2007 in the Lowell Covered Bridge.
Heart Gallery of Lane County Seeks Venues. The Heart Gallery of Lane County helps find permanent homes for local children in the foster care system. Professional photographers have donated their time beautifully photographing these children and capturing their true spirit. The Heart Gallery of Lane County is looking for new places to book its' traveling Heart Gallery show for the months of July, August, and September 2007. There are approximately twenty to thirty portraits for each show with easels if needed. 2007 Fall Oregon Art Education Association Conference. The Portland Art Museum will partner with the Oregon Art Education Association to bring you the biggest and best fall conference yet on Friday, October 12th. The 2007 Keynote Speaker is Sandy Skoglund. More Details.
"Lesson Plan" and Corvallis ArtCentric. Eugene social conceptual artist Mike Walsh has his installation work "Lesson Plan" on exhibit at ArtCentric, 700 S.W. Madison Ave., Corvallis. The installation explores the relationship between aboriginal and white culture in Australia.
Summer Art Camps for Ages 7-12 at Emerald Art Center. Youth who enjoy being creative are invited to participate in half-day or full-day art camps at the Emerald Art Center - July 9-13, 2007. Oregon Made For Interiors at Maude Kerns. The 11th biennial Oregon Made For Interiors exhibit opens July 20. Juried from a statewide call to artists, this distinctive show features high quality, handmade furniture, light fixtures, and wall hangings by Oregon artists. Tricking Fish. The University of Oregon Museum of Natural History and Culture is offering a unique exhibit through August 26, 2007 called Tricking Fish: How and Why Lures Work. The exhibit unravels the mystery of what makes fish bite (or not) by putting the angler inside the fish's fins. Through photographs, illustrations, and hands-on objects visitors of any age come away with a deeper understanding of fish and the environmental factors that control their movements. Tricking Fish is a traveling exhibit from the Bell Museum of Natural History at the University of Minnesota.
Stone Sculptors Symposium. The 13th Annual Silver Falls Stone Sculptors Symposium is gearing up for Aug. 29-Sept. 3, 2007. Open to all levels, this multi-day workshop (art camp!) includes group and individual instruction, with emphasis on technique and design. There will also be a sequence covering forging your own tools. Food and lodging included in the price. College credit available through the University of Oregon.
